Brand Story – Nala’s Naturals
Nala’s Naturals started in a tiny Puerto Rico kitchen with one simple idea: dogs deserve real food made with the same care we give to the people we love. When Nala came home, she arrived with factory kibble and a sensitive tummy. Within days, her diet shifted to gently cooked meals made from real meat, rice, vegetables, bone broth, eggs, and carefully chosen organ meats. The difference was obvious: better stools, more energy, a shinier coat, and a happy, relaxed pup. Nala’s Naturals isn’t about trends or gimmicks. It’s about technique, ingredients, and intention. We roast bones for broth, measure with care, and build each recipe around how a dog’s body actually uses food – not around marketing slogans. Every batch is cooked in small quantities here in Puerto Rico, with a focus on whole-food nutrition, digestibility, and long-term health. Nala eats what we make. If it’s not good enough for her, it doesn’t go in your dog’s bowl either.
Ingredients Philosophy
We keep our ingredient list short, honest, and functional. Every ingredient should have a job:
Real meat as the foundation – chicken thigh, pork loin, beef, Australian Wagyu, or salmon. Organ meats (liver and heart) used with purpose, not as fillers – for natural vitamins and minerals.
Bone broth for collagen, hydration, and gentle flavor. Rice, pumpkin, polenta, or potato for steady energy and gut-friendly carbs. Vegetables like carrots, peas, and sweet potato for fiber and antioxidants.
Whole eggs and finely ground eggshell for protein and natural calcium. A small touch of kelp or similar whole-food minerals for trace nutrients. No artificial colors, no fake flavors, no mystery fillers. Just real food, cooked with care.
A Note About Organ Meats (From Nala)
I know some humans sometimes make a face when they hear “heart” or “liver”… but for us dogs, these aren’t fillers – they’re the good stuff. We use organ meats with purpose. Not to stretch the recipe or cut corners, but because they’re naturally rich in the minerals and nutrients dogs are built to thrive on. It’s the difference between “extra” and essential. Every ingredient in my bowl has a job – and organs are nature’s way of keeping me strong, shiny, and happy.

Bone Broth & Cooking Method (How We Cook)
We cook like someone is watching – because Nala is. For our bone broth, we roast or simmer bones and connective tissue until the pot is filled with gelatin-rich, collagen-heavy broth. That broth becomes the base for our rice and our moisture it’s not just water, it’s nourishment. Rice is cooked in a mix of broth and water to keep flavor and texture balanced, then combined with gently cooked meat, organ meats, vegetables, and whole egg. Everything is cooled before packing, so fats set gently and nutrients are preserved as much as possible. We aim for meals that are simple to serve, easy to digest, and genuinely satisfying for dogs.
